Laura is a San Antonio, Texas Criminal Defense Lawyer, DWI Lawyer, and Appeals Lawyer. An Associate at Hoelscher Gebbia Cepeda PLLC, Laura has extensive experience in DWI defense. Laura won her first jury trial, receiving a “not guilty” verdict for her client in June of 2019. She has been working on DWI defense since being a law clerk for Hoelscher Gebbia Cepeda PLLC in 2017.

Laura graduated from Schriener University in the top 5% of her class in 2015. She was the President of the Schriener University Pre-Law Society and the President of Alpha Chi National College Honor Society. She began her legal career before starting law school, clerking for an experienced criminal lawyer in San Antonio, William “Bill” Reece, her last year of undergrad. She attended St. Mary’s University Law School and graduated in the top 5% of her law school class in 2018. She served as an original editor of the 49th Edition of the St. Mary’s Law Journal. She was the secretary of the Criminal Law Association and served as a research assistant for Professor Ramona Lampley. During her time at law school, she continued to maintain her position as a law clerk for Hoelscher Gebbia Cepeda PLLC.

Laura has won many awards as both a law student and a lawyer. While in law school, Laura was named to the Dean’s List every semester of law school, was awarded credit with honors for her journal Comment on Deceptive Trade Practices and Consumer Rights. She was also inducted into the Harlan Society for graduating in the top 5% of her law school class. In 2018, her first year of practice, she was named as a Top Lawyer for Criminal Defense and DWI Defense in San Antonio by her legal peers.

Laura has assisted numerous criminal clients in resolving their legal matters, ranging from misdemeanor DWI offenses to felony intoxication manslaughter. She assisted in a felony murder case involving a client charged with a 6th felony DWI. Beginning 2020, Laura is co-author of the legal text “Texas Drunk Driving Law,” published by LexisNexis/Matthew Bender. Beyond intoxication law, Laura has experience in civil small claims, administrative law, and major felonies, including substantial work on sex crime and capital murder cases.
